IELTS TASK 1 DẠNG MAP: TỪ VỰNG VÀ NGỮ PHÁP CẦN BIẾT
Nếu bạn thường bị bí ý khi viết Map Task 1, bài viết này sẽ giúp bạn nắm chắc từ vựng và ngữ pháp quan trọng nhất để mô tả bản đồ một cách dễ dàng và logic.
1. Từ vựng
Để viết tốt dạng Map trong IELTS Writing Task 1, bạn cần nắm được các từ vựng thường dùng để mô tả sự thay đổi, xây dựng, phá bỏ và vị trí. Dưới đây là những nhóm từ quan trọng nhất.

2. Cấu trúc miêu tả sự thay đổi giữa các bản đồ
Cấu trúc miêu tả sự thay đổi nói chung
Khi mô tả sự thay đổi giữa các bản đồ trong Task 1, các bạn có thể tham khảo và áp dụng một số cấu trúc câu thông dụng dưới đây:
- In the initial map, [item] was located [location], whereas in the final map, it has been moved/relocated to [new location].
Eg: In the initial map, the school was located in the north, whereas in the final map, it has been relocated to the south.
- The previous map depicted [item] at [location], but in the updated map, it has shifted to [new location].
Eg: The previous map depicted a small shop at the center, but in the updated map, it has shifted to the south.
- There has been a relocation of [item] from [location] to [new location].
Eg: There has been a relocation of the library from the north to the south of the town.
Cấu trúc miêu tả sự thay đổi số lượng:
- The number of [item] has significantly increased/decreased between the two mamaps
- There has been a noticeable rise/fall in the quantity of [item] from the previous map to the updated map.
- The previous map showed a higher/lower number of [item] compared to the current map.
Cấu trúc miêu tả sự thay đổi về kích thước:
- There has been an expansion/reduction in the size of [item].
- The size of [item] has grown/shrunk considerably over time.
- The previous map depicted a larger/smaller [item] compared to the updated map.
Cấu trúc miêu tả sự thay đổi hình dạng:
- The shape of [item] has undergone a significant change.
- There has been a notable alteration in the shape of [item].
- The previous map depicted a different shape of [item] compared to the current map.
Cấu trúc miêu tả sự thay đổi mật độ:
- The density of [item] has increased/decreased between the two maps.
- There has been a significant clustering/spread of [item] in the updated map compared to the previous map.
- The previous map showed a higher/lower concentration of [item] compared to the current map.
Cấu trúc miêu tả sự thay đổi trong các yếu tố khác:
- The introduction of [item] is a notable change between the two maps.
- The previous map lacked [item], whereas the current map features [item].
- There have been improvements/modifications in various aspects of the map, including [item].
Cấu trúc so sánh giữa các yếu tố trên hai bản đồ:
- Compared to the initial map, the final map reveals a significant difference in [item].
- In the beginning, there were several [items]. However, in the end, they were replaced by [new items].
- While there used to be [item], now there is/are [new item(s)].
Cấu trúc miêu tả sự thay đổi theo thời gian:
- Over time, there has been a noticeable shift/change in [item].
- From the initial map to the final map, there has been a progression/regression in [item].
- The changes that have taken place between the two maps can be observed in terms of [item].
Câu bị động: Chủ ngữ + Dạng động từ “To be” + Động từ phân từ 2.
Cấu trúc so sánh (Comparision):
Với dạng bài Writing Map, bạn phải so sánh sự khác biệt, thay đổi giữa một địa điểm trong một khoảng thời gian, nên cấu trúc so sánh đặc biệt được sử dụng với tuần suất cao.

Nhìn chung, để làm tốt IELTS Writing Task 1 dạng Map, người học cần nắm vững các nhóm từ vựng miêu tả sự thay đổi, vị trí, kích thích cũng như sử dụng linh hoạt các cấu trúc ngữ pháp như câu bị động, câu so sánh và các mẫu câu mô tả sự chuyển đổi. Tuy nhiên, chỉ học lý thuyết thôi là chưa đủ, bởi dạng Map đòi hỏi người viết phải luyện tập thường xuyên và được sửa chữa bài chi tiết để tránh các lỗi về ngữ pháp, từ vựng và cách diễn đạt.
Tại các khóa học IELTS của trung tâm, học viên sẽ được hướng dẫn từng dạng bài trong Writing Task 1, trong đó có dạng Map, với hệ thống từ vựng, cấu trúc và bài mẫu theo từng band điểm.
